Travis Baker was born in Melbourne, Australia, where he gained his BMus (Performance) with Honours in 2001. He was appointed Assistant Organist at St Paul’s Cathedral, Melbourne, has performed as soloist with several Australian orchestras and became Director of Training for the Australian Children’s Choir. Now based in England,
Travis has studied with world renowned concert organist, Dame Gillian Weir. In addition to the UK, he has given organ recitals in Ireland, Germany, Switzerland, The Netherlands, Belgium and Denmark. In 2010 Travis toured New Zealand, and the USA (where he toured again last year).
In 2011 Travis was invited to perform for the Opening Concert of the Organ Club of Great Britain. As a Certified Master Teacher, Travis has worked with Estill Voice Systems in London, Australia, New Zealand and Northern Ireland. He has worked with Paul Farrington on Opera New Zealand’s Summer School and will do so again in 2017. Travis has also worked with Paul Farrington training the cast of the film, Quartet, starring Maggie Smith, Pauline Collins and Billy Connolly. Travis then worked on The Theory of Everything training Charlie Cox, Eddie Redmayne and Felicity Jones. He is currently Director of Voice at Millennium Performing Arts College, working with renowned voice specialist Mary King. Travis is Director of Music of The Bromley Boy Singers and at St Mary’s Church Putney.
