5.30pm Men's Group Outing: Blackfriar Pub - Pint & Pie Evening
A Pint and Pie Evening at the Blackfriar Pub hosted by Richard Sammons. This event is repeated on Friday 9th March for those who cannot mahe 9th February (or who want to come twice).
Please do join us for the Mens Group outing this Friday after work at 5.30pm to an historic Art Nouveau Grade II listed building on the site of a Dominican friary. A classic example of arts and crafts design. The building was designed by architect H. Fuller-Clark and artist Henry Poole, both committed to the free-thinking of the Arts and Crafts Movement. Jolly friars appear everywhere in the pub in sculptures, mosaics and reliefs. We are lucky that this wonderful building was saved from demolition by a campaign led by Sir John Betjeman.
Sausages are also a speciality of this establishment.
The Blackfriar Pub is a short walk from Blackfriars Bridge and Upper Thames Street at 174 Queen Victoria Street, EC4V 4EG
